Dear friends and patients of WCA Rockwood,
WCA staff have worked hard to avoid this, but made a very hard decision to close the WCA Rockwood clinic. Our 10 year lease at the Rockwood clinic ends very soon, and unfortunately, we can’t afford to renew it.
The last WCA Rockwood acupuncture shift is on June 30th, 2026…
WCA and ORCCA staff are truly sorry for the disruption that this will cause to everyone who has been part of WCA Rockwood. Ending a clinic is not the outcome any of us wanted…
To understand how WCA & ORCCA staff arrived at this clinic closure decision, WCA co-founder, Lisa Rohleder, shares details in two parts:

Where to get acupuncture after WCA Rockwood is closed?
All WCA and ORCCA clinics share the same acupuncture charting software. Your WCA Rockwood chart information is private, secure, and still active in WCA clinics. If you ever visit another WCA or ORCCA clinic, we have all of your chart information saved and useable. You don’t have to worry about filling out new paperwork again to use other clinics in our network—whew!
A Network of WCA clinics, & the Community Acupuncture school (ORCCA) clinic are open and happy to care for you!
WCA Cully (North East Portland)
ORCCA (North East Portland – School Clinic)
WCA North (North Portland)
WCA Hillsdale (West Portland)
Each of these clinics share WCA patient medical chart information and each clinic honors any prepaid EZ acupuncture treatment credits and any active payment arrangements (PP).
🌼 🌼 🌼 Free Student Acupuncture! 🌼 🌼 🌼
As a support, during the Rockwood clinic transition, all Supervised Student Acupuncture clinic shifts at the ORCCA school clinic are FREE!
(The ORCCA clinic is located near WCA Cully, about a 5 min drive)

WCA Rockwood patient chart information:
Prepaid Acupuncture Treatment “EZ” credits
EZ credits are yours. If you prepaid for your acupuncture, WCA & ORCCA are invested in helping you use your credits however you want to. These credits can support community in many ways:
- Remain active in all patient accounts & never expire
- Are shareable/transferrable to any other WCA or ORCCA
patient - Can be donated to other patients in network or to WCA’s
“patient in need” account - OK to refund
If you would like to change how your EZ credits are being used, in any way, please call, or visit, any WCA or ORCCA clinic.
If you would like a refund for your remaining EZ credits, WCA sends you a check for your EZ balance in the mail. Please help us to help you by sharing your first and last name, and a current physical address with any refund related phone message. Transferring or donating EZ credits is also possible by phone or in person. Just ask!

Future Plans for WCA Rockwood Clinic…
WCA and ORCCA staff are very grateful for the support from our patients and volunteers over the past 10 years. We hope to maintain these valuable relationships. We are sorry that we cannot stay in the same building.
WCA and ORCCA staff are actively looking for a local partner organization. Our goal is to return to the East Portland area to provide community acupuncture. Partnerships look a bit different than what WCA Rockwood used to offer. WCA wants to partner with an organization that shares our mission.
To provide the best acupuncture care for the East Side community, we are focused on creating a sustainable partnership. If WCA finds a group with the right space and a shared mission, we will share the good news immediately.
Until that partnership is ready, we encourage you to visit our other locations. Please do not wait for a new East Portland space to continue your care. You can visit the Cully, Hillsdale, North Portland, Wygant, or ORCCA (school) location. Please let us know how we can assist you in navigating to other WCA locations.
We are here to support you. WCA staff hope to bring care closer to you in the future. However, we cannot predict when a new East Side clinic will open. Please continue your acupuncture care at our other locations in the meantime.
How will I know if a new clinic is opening on the east side?
We will be shouting it from the rooftops!
Messaging will be all over the WCA website, sent out by WCA email, and posted in some way in existing WCA clinics 😉
Should I wait for a *possible/future* dream of an east side clinic, before I get acupuncture?
Until a partnership is both clearly formed, working as a win-win for all organizations involved, WCA wants to be very clear with current WCA Rockwood patients:
Please, please, please, seek acupuncture now!
*Please* try acupuncture at any of our thriving WCA clinic locations, or at the ORCCA school classroom clinic! Try out the commute, at least once, and see if you can work with the further away clinic location for a while… If not, OK, we totally understand, but please give it a go once, for yourself 😉
WCA & ORCCA staff wish you closer/local access to acupuncture *someday*… At the same time, someday is not in any way worth waiting around for. We are not in a position to predict any timelines or even confirm that another clinic will come to be on the east side. Creating this new clinic open takes immense energy and whatever time it takes… We don’t know. Please don’t wait for an east side WCA clinic to form before continuing your acupuncture care… We hope a new clinic forms, and it might, but this could take so much time—maybe even years? Genuinely no one knows a timeline here, so we are very respectfully asking patients to find care now. We are so sorry the commute distance is longer, truly. We still hope to see you in the clinic as much as it is possible.
Thank you for your understanding the unusual situation and for supporting punks and students in our network of clinics. We are navigating an unknown next chapter for accessible acupuncture on the east side…
